About DesignFit

DesignFit is a method of creating fitness programs. It helps clients answer the basic questions regarding their fitness; Which exercises should I perform? How many days per week should I exercise? How many sets and reps? Are the recommended exercises appropriate for everyone or should I do something different? What about my injury? Since I have a history of lower back pain should I do squats? How much aerobic exercise should I do? I do not what to get big and bulky so should I only lift light weights? Should I eat a low carb/high protein diet or a high carb/low protein diet? Should I follow High Intensity Training or use the Volume approach to training?

DesignFit will help you answer these questions and also provide you with the ability to create your own programs that best fit your lifestyle, abilities and goals. Make no mistake, the suggested programs and methods are not easy, but they are minimalist in nature and emphasize the fundamentals. The great American football coach Vince Lombardi once said the key to winning football games was blocking and tackling, not passing, and running. The fundamental ability to block your opponent so you can score and to tackle your opponent so they cannot score is the key. That really made sense to me. DesignFit programs involve a similar philosophy regarding fitness based on fundamental exercises and techniques. Fitness is a journey not a destination, so do not let fad exercise ideas persuade you with quick fix programs. Instead, learn to build your own programs rooted in the fundamentals of exercise and fitness.
